Recipe Ingredients:
- 6 cups flour
- 3 cups lukewarm water
- 2 tsp traditional yeast
- 2 tsp salt
Directions:
- The night before, combine all ingredients and then add water. Mix until combined.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for 12-20 hours on the counter.
- The following day the dough will be wet, generously flour hands and form 2 baguette shapes.
- Place on the parchment paper lined on a baking sheet. Score the top with a sharp knife making 5- 6 diagonal marks.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 450 °F.
- You will use two shelves in your oven. Pour two cups of boiling water into a cookie sheet and place on the bottom rack.
- Add baguettes to oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the water tray and bake the baguettes for an additional 10 minutes until golden crispy brown.
