French Dip

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1.1kg One Mile Ranch outside round roast
  • 2Tbsp olive oil
  • 2cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • Mozzarella cheese slices
  • homemade brioche buns (or buns of your choice)

French onion soup mix ingredients :

  • 1/4 cup dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

Directions:

  • Heat olive oil in the pan on high heat and sear roast for 1-2 min per side. When fully seared, transfer to crockpot.
  • Add the broth and water to the crockpot as well
  • In a small box mix together the 7 French onion soup mix ingredients.
  • Add the spice mixture to the crock pot as well.
  • Cook for 5 hours on high heat or 8 hours on low
  • When finished cooking, pull the roast out and shred it into smaller pieces
  • Strain the au jus from the crockpot through cheesecloth to create a dip for the buns.
  • Pile a bun with the meat, place cheese on top, and broil in the oven to melt the cheese.
  • Serve with the au jus dip.
