Recipe Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground pork
- ½ cup bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
Teriyaki sauce
- ½ cup pineapple juice (reserved from can)
- 1 cup soya sauce
- 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp water
Toppings
- Pineapple rings
- Red onion, thinly sliced in rings
- Swiss cheese squares
- spring mix
Direction:
- Mix all the ingredients of the teriyaki sauce together (Pineapple juice, soya sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey and minced garlic) in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cover and bring to a boil. While the sauce is coming to a boil in a small bowl mix the cornstarch with water. Once the sauce is boiling, add the cornstarch mixture and cook for another minute until the sauce begins to thicken, remove from heat.
- In a mixing bowl combine the ground pork, bread crumbs, garlic, ginger, black pepper, cilantro and 6 Tbsp of the teriyaki sauce. Mix until just combined, split the mixture into 8 equal parts and shape into patties.
- Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for 30 min.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high and lightly oil grates.

Grill the:
- Pineapple rings for about 3min/side
- Red onion for about 4min/side
- Pork Burgers for 4 min on one side then flip, brush with more teriyaki sauce. Cook for another 4 min then flip and brush with teriyaki sauce and cook for another 2-4 min. (10-12 min in total) Add swiss cheese and let it melt on top.
- Serve the burgers inside of a bun with extra teriyaki sauce, topped with the pineapple ring, red onion and spring mix.
